GOD'S PLAN FOR SALVATION OF MANKIND

Chapter 4

FEAST OF TRUMPETS

The fourth step in God’s plan of salvation for mankind is pictured by the fourth holy day, called the Feast of Trumpets. This feast is celebrated in the autumn season in September – October.

Every nation has a few holidays that celebrate some memorable events in it’s history. Usually these holidays commemorate either gaining independence from another nation, or a great military victory over its arch-enemies in the past. God’s people and all people in God’s Kingdom will also have seven such memorable holy days that will commemorate great events for them. These days are God’s seven annual holy days which will be celebrated by God’s people throughout eternity.

The Feast of Trumpets is one such feast. It will be a Feast of joy for the firstfruits, because it celebrates their victory over man’s arch enemies, Satan and the demons, when they are resurrected as immortal sons of God at the return of Jesus Christ. Just as 4th of July or 7/4, the date on which the declaration of independence by the 13 American colonies from Britain is celebrated, is etched in American memory, the date 7/1 in God’s calendar will be forever etched in the memory of the firstfruits of God's Church. The Feast of Trumpets is celebrated on 7/1 or the first day of the seventh month of God's Sacred Calendar.

God's instructions concerning this feast are recorded in Leviticus 23:24: “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, in the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.”

This feast in ancient Israel was celebrated with blowing of trumpets, and what we would today call Church services to learn more about the meaning of the Feast.

Meaning of the Blowing of Trumpets

What was the significance of the blowing of trumpets in ancient Israel, and of the additional blowing of Trumpets during the Feast of Trumpets?

Numbers 10:3-4 describe the uses of trumpets in ancient Israel. The blowing of one trumpet meant a meeting of the leaders of Israel. The blowing of two trumpets signified a meeting of all the people. Trumpets were also blown to sound an alarm of imminent war, as described in Number 10:9. Trumpets were also blown during the appointed feast days as stated in Numbers 10:10.

In addition, trumpets were also used to herald the coronation of a king, as in the case of king Solomon of ancient Israel, as described in 1 Kings 1:39: “39 And Zadok the priest took a horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save King Solomon.”

The Feast of Trumpets signifies a time when all these events take place - a time of worldwide war; a time of feasting, joy and gladness for victory over the enemy; and a time of crowning of the King of kings and many other kings. Now let us examine in greater detail all the events that this feast memorializes.

1.  Feast of Trumpets Memorializes a Time of Unprecedented War and Upheaval in World History in the Near Future.

The Feast of Trumpets memorializes a specific time in human history yet in the very near future. That time was prophesied by the prophet Joel 2:1: “Blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand.”

The Feast of Trumpets signifies the “Day of the Lord,” which is a part of the event called the Great Tribulation.

The Great Tribulation is a three-and-a-half-year long period of unprecedented world trouble in the very near future. Jesus Christ described the Great Tribulation in Matthew 24:21-22: “21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”

The “Day of the Lord” is the last one year of the three-and-a-half years of the Great Tribulation. A day in prophecy equals one year. The Great Tribulation is 3 ½ years of the most terrible trouble mainly for America, British Commonwealth nations and the state of Israel at the hands of a German led European and Islamic alliance. Then the Day of the Lord is the last one year of those 3 ½ years.  It is the time of God’s punishment on all nations of the world for persecuting and murdering His saints, the members of God’s Church, and the American, British and Jewish people in their slavery, and for breaking His EVERLASTING covenant with all of humanity by disobeying His laws and sinning. It will be the year of the greatest trouble in the history of mankind in which a large part of the world’s population will perish.

The troubles during this one year were pictured by seven trumpet blasts as described in the book of Revelation in 8:1-2, 6. That is what the Feast of trumpets pictures. Revelation 8:1-2, 6 state: “1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets…6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.” This feast thus memorializes the entire year during which the seven trumpets are sounded to herald various events. It pictures ALL SEVEN TRUMPETS and not just the last trumpet. That’s why it is called the Feasts of Trumpets and not the Feast of The Last Trumpet, or the Feast of the Seventh Trumpet.

Before we get to the events of the “Day of the Lord” pictured by the Feast of Trumpets, let us get a little background on the prophesied events leading up to and including the Great Tribulation.

The three-and-a-half years of the great tribulation begin with the military defeat of the American/British/Israel alliance at the hands of an alliance of European nations, which itself is allied with many of the world’s other nations. The European Alliance is led by the King of the North, a German military dictator, also known as the Beast.

This time of trouble is described by the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 30:5, 7: “5 "For thus says the Lord: 'We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace…7 Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”

The Americans, the British, all the Jews and people of the northwest European democracies are the descendants of Jacob, whose later God-given name was Israel. Jeremiah’s prophecy indicates that in a world war, the American, British and the Jewish military alliance is defeated and enslaved by the king of the North and his alliance partners. During the first two and a half years of the great tribulation, the Beast and all the nations will have murdered hundreds of millions of their American, British and Jewish slaves. Ultimately only one-tenth of the slave population will survive. The false prophet – the head of the great false Church based in Rome – and the beast will also have had probably all members of God’s true Church murdered, who had not fled to the place of safety.

At the end of the two and a half years of the great tribulation the one-year long “Day of the Lord” begins, pictured by the seven great trumpet blasts. This time of the greatest upheaval in human history is described as the sounding of the seven trumpets, beginning with Revelation 8:6 – 9:21: “So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. 8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10 Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter. 12 Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night. 13 And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!"

The above is a description of a war in which nations are using nuclear weapons, almost completely destroying the vegetation of enemy nations, destroying seas with nuclear weapons, poisoning each other’s’ water supplies so that hundreds of millions die as a result. Verse 8 also indicates that there may be a supernatural meteorite strike in the Mediterranean Sea. Other prophecies indicate that this is a war between the former Islamic and African allies of the Beast, the European Alliance that had combined to defeat and enslave the American, British and Jewish peoples. The European and Islamic alliance falls apart resulting in this war. Truly the Feast of Trumpets pictures a time of terrible world wars. And the worst is yet to come.

Then Revelation 9:1-21 continues: “1 Then the fifth angel sounded…Then verse 3: 3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.”

This is the description of a war with such biological weapons that human beings are terribly tormented for 5 months. They will seek to die, but death will not come. This is the description of an attack initiated by the Beast or the King of the North against the nations of the east who had begun to mobilize their armies when the King of the North was engaged in the war with the Islamic and African nations. But the East also fights back with similar biological weapons resulting in worldwide torment. The description of the massive counterattack by the forces of the Eastern Alliance continues in the next verses.

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them… 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed--by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths.”

This is a counterattack by the Eastern Alliance fielding an army of 200 million men. The other side will definitely respond with tens-of-millions-strong army of its own. With both sides possessing nuclear weapons that could wipe out all life on earth, the nations realize that they do not have this option. So, the only logical response for the East is to attack the realm of the King of the North and his global allies with an overwhelming 200-million-man army. One third of humans alive at that time will lose their lives in this war.

Then in verses 20-21 of Revelation 9 God describes why He will allow human beings to inflict all these horrors on themselves: “20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.”

God is basically trying to get humanity’s attention to cause repentance from its gross sins under the influence of Satan and the demons in demon and idol worship, murders, sexual immorality, theft and robbery.

Yes, the time memorialized by the Feast of Trumpets is a time of unprecedented warfare, disasters and sin on earth, in which billions will die. As Jesus Christ said in Matthew 24:22: “…Unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved alive; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

The trumpets, however, were also sounded to picture the good news and celebrations signified by the Feast of Trumpets. And that good news is that God will not allow man to annihilate himself but will intervene to save humanity. Therefore,

2) Feast of Trumpets memorializes the return of Jesus Christ to Earth to Intervene in Human Affairs on a Global Scale to Save Humanity from Annihilating itself.

After humanity has fought these devastating wars, the King of the North and the Kings of the East are contemplating using all their nuclear weapons to annihilate the other side, but particularly the King of the North, as he now sees no other option to avoiding total defeat. But this would destroy all life on earth. Before they can do this, Jesus Christ will return to save humanity from annihilating itself. His return is described in the following scriptures:

1 Thessalonians 4:16: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God…”

The trumpet of God mentioned here is the seventh trumpet described in Revelation 11:15, which states: “15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"

Jesus Christ Himself described His return to earth in Matthew 24:29-31:

“29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

When Jesus Christ returns to earth the whole world will know. It will not be a silent, secretive event. This is described in Matthew 24:27: “27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Thus, Jesus Christ’s return will get the attention of all the world leaders, even those who were contemplating using all their nuclear weapons to destroy one another, and everything else on earth in the process. The nations will be prevented from doing so. Therefore, the Feast of Trumpets should also be a time of great rejoicing for all mankind.

3) Feast of Trumpets Pictures the Resurrection of the Saints to Eternal Life.

Before Jesus Christ returns to earth, God’s loyal saints through the first 6,000 years of man’s history, the firstfruits, will be resurrected to eternal life and will rise to meet Him in the air. Paul describes this event in several passages. He says in 1 Corinthians 15: 22-23, 52-53: “22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming… 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet [which is the seventh trumpet]. For the trumpet [meaning the seventh trumpet] will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

Then in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 Paul writes: “15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God [again the seventh trumpet]. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

This resurrection is called the first resurrection and is also mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6: “…They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years…Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”

This is called the “better resurrection” in Hebrews 11:35 because it is to eternal life and rulership with Jesus Christ during His 1000-year reign on earth, and the universe beyond.

4) Feast of Trumpets Memorializes the Firstfruits’ Total Victory over Satan and the Demons.

Blowing of trumpets also symbolizes victory. As already mentioned, the firstfruits are those saints who have been called since the creation of Adam to the return of Jesus Christ on earth. The firstfruits will be resurrected to eternal life as immortal sons of God at the second coming of Jesus Christ. When they become immortal beings, they will be more powerful than Satan and the demons who then will have no power or influence over them. They will have overcome the world. Their victory over Satan and the demons will be complete. Hence the reason for greatly rejoicing for the firstfruits during this Feast!

When Jesus Christ returns to earth, His top priority will be rescuing the American, British and Jewish slaves around the world who would otherwise completely perish. Therefore,

5)  Feast of Trumpets Signifies that the Americans, the British and the Jews will be Rescued from Slavery to form a Nation Again.

Isaiah the prophet prophesied how Israel will be rescued from captivity and brought back to the land of Israel in Isaiah 27:13: “13 So it shall be in that day: The great trumpet will be blown; They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria [which is modern Germany], and they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.”

But how will this happen? The nations that have been holding the Israelites captive for more than 3 years now and have murdered 90% of their entire population will not let them go free when Jesus Christ demands their release. They will refuse to free them. Then Jesus Christ will have to pour out plagues on them as described after the seventh trumpet is blown to force them to release their captives, just as He poured out plagues on ancient Egypt to force Pharaoh and the Egyptians to release their Israelite slaves. The slaves will be released and brought to Jerusalem and the land of Israel as prophesied by Isaiah and the other prophets. Hence the Feast of Trumpets pictures a time of great rejoicing for Israelites, meaning the Americans, the British and the Jews.

6) Feast of Trumpets Signifies that Jesus Christ will Conquer all Nations, Set up His Kingdom on Earth and Punish the Guilty.

This occurs at the blowing of the seventh trumpet. Revelation 11:15 states: “15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!"

When Jesus Christ returns to earth the nations will not simply hand over rulership of their nations to Him. They will resist Him. In fact, Revelation 11:18 says: “…the nations were angry…”

He will demand that the nations release their American, British and Jewish slaves, but they will not comply with His demand. Jesus Christ will give humanity a final warning through three powerful angels to first worship God because His kingdom is now set up on earth; secondly that the Babylonian system of the German beast and the Roman Church is now fallen; and finally to repent and give up the worship of the image of the beast or receive his mark on their foreheads or in their hands. Those who do not repent and still continue in this false worship will be destroyed with fire and brimstone.

This is described in Revelation 14:6-11: “6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue [meaning language], and people-- 7 saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." 8 And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon [the Babylonian system is the combined miltary-religious-political-economic system in Europe and the Roman Church] is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." 9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."

God gives the nations of the world this final warning to repent and submit to God’s Kingdom now set up on earth. But the nations will not relinquish rulership of their nations to Jesus Christ and the saints. Jesus Christ will have to force nations to comply with His demands, as He forced ancient Egypt to release ancient Israel. He does so by pouring out plagues on them, which are described in Revelation 16.

Revelation 16:1-21: “Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth." 2 So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. 3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died. 4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: "You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due." 7 And I heard another from the altar saying, "Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments."

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. 10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.”

Again, God’s purpose in pouring out these plagues is to cause nations to repent of their evil deeds, but they do not repent. Instead, they become so angry at their Creator, who they think is an invader from outer space, that they are easily led by Satan and the demons to gather at the Hill of Megiddo in the valley of Jezreel in Israel, also known as Armageddon, to attack Him. From there they move to Jerusalem for the attack. But all their armies are completely annihilated. This is described in Revelation 16:12-16.

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon [Satan], out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame." 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

The way the armies of the world are annihilated is described in Zechariah 14:12-13 (NIV): “12 This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13 On that day men will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. Each man will seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other.”

The result of this fight will be a river of blood more than 180 miles long to a depth of a horse’s bridle, or between 3 to 4 feet. This is described in Revelation 14:20: “20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.”

The nations also deserve to be punished for sending their armies to attack their Creator rather than obeying Him. As further punishment, the world experiences the greatest earthquake ever in the history of mankind that flattens all cities, followed by a hailstorm of 100 lb. hailstones that destroy all the wicked which Jesus Christ determines should be destroyed. This is described in Revelation 16:17-21:

17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!" 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent [100 lbs.]. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.”

With these plagues, God will demonstrate to all nations that He is truly Almighty, and ultimate Ruler of the universe. After hundreds of millions perish in these plagues and humanity’s stubborn will is broken, all nations will finally be subdued and will submit to Jesus Christ and His kingdom on earth.

Jesus Christ will also bring the guilty to justice. He will judge the great false church and the military-religious Babylonian system. Revelation 17:16 describes the judgment on the great false Roman church, also known as the “Great Whore”: “And then ten horns which you saw on the beast [these are the ten European allies of the German dictator], these will hate the whore [meaning the Roman Church], make her desolate and naked, and eat her flesh and burn her with fire.”

Bringing the guilty Beast, the false prophet and those with them to justice is described in Revelation 19:20-21:” Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.”

The fire that is burning in Jerusalem is used to burn trash. Thus, the beast and the false prophet will be thrown alive as trash into this fire to be burned. That will be God’s judgment on these two who had claimed they are divine and will be worshipped as such. And the people who will carry out this judgment on the beast and the false prophet and all their forces in the land of Israel will be their former American, British and Jewish slaves now brought back to their land.

This is prophesied by Obadiah the prophet in 15-18: “15 "For the day of the Lord upon all the nations is near; As you have done, it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall return upon your own head. 16 For as you drank on my holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually; Yes, they shall drink, and swallow, and they shall be as though they had never been. 17 "But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions. 18 The house of Jacob [meaning descendants of all the 12 tribes of Israel] shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph [meaning the British and the Americans] a flame; But the house of Esau [Some of the Turks, Palestinians and some of other Muslim allies of the beast who had occupied the land of Israel] shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, and no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau," For the Lord has spoken.”

To do perfect justice, it is perfectly alright for God to kill these people as they will have caused billions to be murdered, because He has the power to resurrect them later to physical life and will do so at the end of the 1,000 years of His rule, which event will be memorialized by the seventh annual holy day called the Last Great Day, described later.

7) Feast of Trumpets Pictures the Coronation of the Saints as Kings, Priests and Lords, and Jesus Christ as King of these kings and Lord of these lords.

In ancient Israel, trumpets were used to herald the coronation of a new king as in the case of King Solomon described in I Kings 1:39. The blowing of trumpets on the Feast of Trumpets, thus, will memorialize the establishment of the kingdom of God and the coronation of Jesus Christ as its King of kings, and the saints as kings and priests reigning under Jesus Christ. The resurrected saints are the king-priests here, the office of king and priest being combined in single individuals for the first time, and Jesus Christ will be the King of these King-priests and the High Priest over them for eternity.

This Feast signifies the greatest turning point in human history.  It is a memorial because all these future events will be memorialized for eternity when we celebrate it throughout all eternity.
